From a comic featuring the floating heads of famous people from the past, Thinkin’ Lincoln by Miles Grover. Currently on hiatus.

I hate having to scale these down, but the theme I use restricts content to one narrow column. So as usual, click to view full size.

No idea where this came from or who created it. My guess: either 4chan or some more obscure message board.

[comic] MSPA: Homestuck

February 10th, 2011 § Leave a Comment

One of my favorite webcomics is MS Paint Adventures’ Homestuck. It’s more than just a webcomic, though — the story also makes use of Flash animations and games, which have some great music. Also unique is its use of IM chat logs, which replaces the dialog boxes of more traditional comics.

The story itself is summarized by the author as a “tale about a boy and his friends and a game they play together.” But for as far as the story has developed, this phrase doesn’t really sum it up as well as it once did.

Homestuck reads rather like a text adventure, with its use of commands to describe character actions. But while previous stories on MSPA have little or nothing in the way of dialog, Homestuck has more than most other comics I’ve read — but rather than being long-winded and boring, the extensive dialog in the Pesterchum/Trollian chat logs does a lot to help character development.

I highly recommend getting into Homestuck. You’ll likely enjoy its clever style, humor and unique plot progression… And if you like some other stuff on this blog, you’ll enjoy how absolutely strange it is, too.
